Media: Hand-made conductive sensors, recycled carpet yarn, conductive tape, felt, acrylic, wood, incandescent light, lighting control circuitry. Three textile sensor areas. 48"w x 48"h. This giant 16 inch Pom Pom is an ironic sculptural, decorative and functional object. Viewers touch one of three giant, grey sensor pompoms to control lights inside an educational light box. When the lights are on, text and wiring is revealed, showing how the technology works. Commissioned by the Ontario Science Center. |
